It's common wisdom that kids are more likely to eat foods they pick out themselves, so why not take them directly to the source--the farm. Many local area farms offer the option of picking your own produce directly from their fields. It's a great experience for both kids and parents. Pick-your-own Produce including boysenberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches apples, pumpkins, corn, gourds. Most of their produce is marketed as pick-your-own, so they have set up the fields for easy access picking. They also grow many varieties of each crop to extend the length of the picking season.

Extra family fun: In the fall they open "Grandpa's Barn" which features scarecrows, hayrides, mazes, and a petting zoo with goats, ponies and chickens.

For families interested in growing their own food, Loving Nature Farm leases small garden plots. They provide seeds and seedlings, organic fertilizer, and regular watering services.
Directions: On Jefferson Blvd heading south, make a right on Hamilton Road, at the end of Hamilton Road make a left on Z Line Road, go 0.4 mile and arrive at the first house on your left.
