Come enjoy music and food and drink, while watching teams of artisan gladiators compete for the coveted “Trophy du Trash” in a timed “sculpt-off” using recycled materials. Each team receives a box of similar items and races aganst the clock to create its own unique work of art. When the closing bell sounds, a panel of judges critiques the final green giants and names the winning team.
Recycled art materials will be available for kids to take part in the fun first-hand.

Celebrate art in downtown Davis.
2nd Friday ArtAbout is a monthly evening of open galleries and artists’ receptions at businesses, galleries and other art-friendly locations in Downtown Davis and beyond. Events occur year-round and are free and open to the public. Many venues include receptions, refreshments and opportunities to meet artists.

Buy and/or sell gently-used, outgrown items and find some great deals on children and maternity items! A portion of the proceeds and/or unsold/donated items are given to the Sacramento Food Band and Family Severices and the Community Closet to benefit local families in need.

Location: 1 Biology Road, west of the central campus, University of California, Davis.
Garden Tours, Speakers, Hands-On Demonstrations, Complimentary Häagen-Dazs ice cream and Gimbal's Fine Candies, and a children's activity center with arts and crafts, including button-making, face-painting and flower crafting. Food will be available for purchase, as will “bee” t-shirts from graduate and undergraduate students at UC Davis. Visitors will be invited to participate in drawings for posters, honey and other items.
7TH STREET EMPORIUM AND ART FAIRE

Bigger, faster, and louder than before, the California Capital Airshow roars into town September 11-12, 2010!
